Sally Dick has worked extensively in the health and care sector and in a wide range of partnerships with people using care services. Her skills and experience include development support (eg with service user groups, steering groups, organisations at times of change), management and development of services, social work practice, practice teaching, social research, evaluation, advocacy and training. Her work focused particularly on the use of inclusive, accessible methods.
Karen Irvine has worked extensively alongside people who use care services, principally in independent advocacy in Scotland, where she has been influential in the development of advocacy practice, policy and national strategy. Her skills include development support to emerging organisations, review at times of change, social research, evaluation, advocacy, training and mentoring. Originally from an arts background, she is well known for her graphic facilitation and has a particular interest in developing accessible participatory methods.
Chris Vickerman has over 20 years senior management experience working in support services for people with learning disabilities and people with mental health issues in England, Wales and Scotland. He also has significant experience in setting up new organisations and services and turning around organisations in difficulties. Much of his work has involved encouraging services to focus more intently on what their users want. He has a particular interest in person centred planning and ways of working.
